Guru Nanak Painting

“MEDITATION”

1469 — 2019

In celebration of
Guru Nanak’s 550th
birth anniversary

Guru Nanak, also known as the founder of Sikhism, traveled nearly 28,000 km across the globe with the mission of searching for divine truth. With the truth as his guide, he preached about equality, justice, and meditation. His message transcended beyond religious and worldly boundaries, that is, there is one God and his name is truth.

About this Painting

Painted in mix media using India ink and watercolours, this composition features a very unique profile view of Guru Nanak Dev (1469-1539), the founder of Sikhism, with praying hands and his eyes closed to indicate his state of bliss and nothingness. My inspiration for this painting came from a personal longing for spirituality and inner well-being.

Guru Nanak traveled nearly 28,000 km across the globe with the mission of searching for divine truth. With the truth as his guide, he preached about equality, justice, and meditation. His message transcended beyond religious and worldly boundaries, that is, there is one God and his name is truth.
